Just a quick update on our raya celebration, 1st to 3rd day in PJ with the family. 4th-6th day @ Melaka for a quick rejuvenating holiday. Stayed @ Holiday Inn Melaka for 2 nites, swimming-jumping @ the pool for both baba and son (Najla a bit young to swim in the pool, perhaps later when she's bigger, insyaAllah), we did Medan Ikan Bakar Parameswara, Klebang coconut shake, Mahkota Parade, beca-ride, Menara Taming Sari, Melaka River Cruise among others. Copy pasted from The Sun.
PETALING JAYA (July 17, 2013): When Dr Delaila Ahmad (pix) faced off with a snatch thief outside her clinic at 1.20am on Tuesday, she never thought that she would have to undergo 12 hours of surgery to re-attach her left thumb and treat a fractured wrist and the many lacerations that the fiend had inflicted on her.
The 57-year-old obstetrician and gynaecologist (pix) did the natural thing when she turned around on hearing a soft "hello" only to regret her action as the heartless brute sliced off her thumb, leaving her slumped beside her car in excruciating pain.
It was only when her screams for help brought out a staff member at the clinic that the thief fled with an accomplice on a motorcycle, but not before rifling through her handbag to take RM3,750 which represented part of the clinic's collections for the day.
The staff member quickly telephoned her husband, who was on the way to fetch her, to rush over to take Delaila to the Sime Darby Medical Centre in Subang Jaya, where she is also a consultant.
It is understood that the staff member's husband, who arrived shortly after, found the thumb beside Delaila and placed it in a plastic bag before taking her to the hospital.
Family members were keeping vigil outside the ICU at the hospital today as doctors tried their best to ensure that the operation to re-attach the thumb would be successful.
It is understood that doctors had to give Delaila four pints of blood as she had bled profusely from the wound.
"She is alright now and has awoken from her sedation," a source said, adding that no one is allowed into the ICU on doctors' orders.
Two of Delaila's children – a son who is studying in India and a daughter studying in the United Kingdom – flew in to be with their mother on hearing of the incident. Another son, who is a doctor in Slim River, also rushed back.
"She had just finished counting the money and was about to go home when the incident occurred. Perhaps the robbers had been targeting her," a source close to the victim said.
Subang Jaya police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli said police had identified the thief who had slashed Delaila and were on the hunt for him.
It is believed that the thief's tactic was similar to that of the person involved in another incident recently and police had obtained a photo-fit of the man.
Meanwhile, those who knew Delaila said she is an expert in her field, highly-praised and well-loved by her patients and peers.

13 bottles of approx. 100ml (each) EBM totaling to 1.3 liter gone; down into the kitchen sink...sedihhh..it's basically one-third of my 'milk reserve' for my girl...
We were stocking up frozen food on Sunday; a day after the Aqiqah, so had a lot of stuff to put in the freezer of our 2 door fridge..
Yesterday afternoon I noticed something dripping from our freezer, checked and saw all the ice had melted and the 13 bottles which I had placed as Najla's milk supply had turned to liquid, sedihnya tak terkata...I know for some yang have abundance of BM will think 1.3 liter is nothing...but for me yang have to 'work hard' to produce this amount...it's a lot of work, not forgetting early morning pumping session; no, I am not complaining here, but when thinking back the time spent to produce 1.3 liter, rasa nak nangih...
Looking at the bright side; another 2/3 stock of frozen EBM is still ok in our deep freezer...Alhamdulillah..
Breastfeeding is not an easy feat...Ya Allah, please give me the patience to do this...
p/s - Have to work harder to build up my milk reserve...
Syukur to Allah, her Aqiqah do went well...pic tak banyak pun amik...it's just a simple ceremony to convey our thanks to Allah for giving us a healthy zuriat...Alhamdulillah...
Mostly, hubs frens and relatives were there to celebrate the event with us..many thanks to frens and relatives who can make it and thanks for the beautiful gifts and RM; murah rezeki Najla; Alhamdulillah...I know it's kind of last minute invites and prep, even the kambing sembelihan aqiqah were booked a few days before the event...nasib baik ada this one ladang kambing @ Gombak; thanks to my niece Ana who had recommended that particular place. We were a first timer in doing aqiqah here coz Najeeb's aqiqah was done in Makkah when he was 4 months old...kambing kat Makkah senang nak cari and cheaper than Malaysia coz it's like their staple food there..
Here is our offering...
Kesian tengok muka dia putih bersih je..tapi once dah masak dengan Nasi Kably Arab..perghhh...sedaaapp..heheh..
